2021 IMSA Preview Poster

Excitement building around the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona often elicits a classic image from our resident artist, Paul Laguette, and 2021 was no exception. Here are the four main classes from that year’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. In the foreground is the Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-05, as driven by Dane Cameron, who would finish fourth at Daytona and fifth in the race. Above it is the GTD-class Lexus RC F GT3 of Jack Hawksworth and Aaron Telitz, who would suffer a tough race at Daytona but would later clock a win at Watkins Glen. The unmistakable Wynn’s colors of the PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports-run Oreca are next up, and while Mikkel Jensen and Ben Keating were only seventh in Daytona, three wins and three other podiums ensured they finished the season as LMP2 champions. Top is the WeatherTech Racing Porsche 911 RSR-19 from the GT Le Mans class. The only driver to compete in all rounds in this car was Cooper MacNeil, and he won at Sebring, Road America and Road Atlanta accompanied by Matt Campbell (all three) and Mathieu Jaminet (Sebring and Road Atlanta). MacNeil would finish eseaosn third in points.
