Jackie Stewart's Matra MS80 Poster

Regular price $26.00
Jackie Stewart won all three of his Formula 1 World Championships with Tyrrell, but not all in a Tyrrell. In 1968, Ken Tyrrell’s squad ran Matras, and despite having to miss two races through injury, Stewart came achingly close to winning the title in the Matra MS10. He opened his ’69 campaign in the year-old car – and won at Kyalami – before switching to the new MS80 in which he produced five more wins. He captured the championship in dominant fashion. Paul Laguette’s illustration portrays Stewart’s victory on the MS80’s debut at Montjuich Park, Spain in ’69. This was the only time this car raced with the spindly high wings, before such devices were banned from Formula 1 two weeks later during the Monaco Grand Prix weekend.
