Cadillac DPi-V.R Poster

IMSA’s Daytona Prototype international era ran from 2017 to 2022, using LMP2 chassis but with more exotic engines and unique manufacturer bodywork. The Cadillac DPi-V.R started out with a 6.2-liter normally aspirated V8 but after dominating in 2017, this was pegged back to 5.5 liters. Not that it made much difference. In 59 IMSA races across six seasons, a DPi-V.R headed the results sheet 27 times. Throughout this era, Action Express Racing ran Cadillacs, and its Whelen Engineering entry, piloted full-time by ex-Formula 1 racer Felipe Nasr and Pipo Derani snared the 2021 title with four wins.
