A.J, Foyt, 1961 Indianapolis 500 Win Poster
Regular price
$26.00
Despite being a force on the USAC Champ Car scene, A.J. Foyt hadn’t led a lap or finished higher than 10th in his first three Indy 500 starts. But that all changed in 1961. Foyt started seventh in his George Bignotti-prepared, Floyd Trevis-built Watson copy, put on a show for the ages with Eddie Sachs, and brought it home first. RACER artist-in-residence Paul Laguette’s stunning study of the legendary Texan crossing the Speedway’s finish line captures the classic roadster lines and the venerable bricks that, except for a yard at the start-finish, would be covered by asphalt later that same year.
